Description: Compost NOW (New Orleans Waste) is a free residential food waste collection project in New Orleans. We collect food scraps at multiple locations across the city and send it to local farms to turn residential frozen food waste into nutrient-rich compost.

Compost NOW promotes, supports and provides resources to several residential food waste collection programs throughout New Orleans. We partner with local farms, gardens and parks who accept frozen food scraps on site, what we call “direct-to-farm” or “direct-to-garden” drop offs. Our partners all run and are responsible for their own collections.
