Enbridge Energy is a Canadian fossil fuel corporation that operates Line 5, transporting synthetic crude oil from Superior, Wisconsin, through Michigan and ultimately to refineries in Sarnia, Ontario. The oil originates in the tar sands of Alberta, with the route through Wisconsin and Michigan merely a shortcut Enbridge uses to move Canadian oil from Canada back to Canada.
