The Institute offers two programs – an Associate of Applied Science Degree and a Certificate in Funeral Directing. We have been providing education for funeral service professionals – as funeral directors, embalmers or both – since 1936. The funeral service profession is our sole mission.
Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service is a vocational, post secondary teaching institution with its primary purpose being to educate individuals interested in the subjects comprising the curriculum for licensure and a career in funeral service.
Commonwealth offers a complete funeral service educational experience; whether you choose to attend classes on campus or utilize our online learning platform. We do not simply teach theory but believe strongly in applied learning.
