In my training, I have been fortunate enough to have worked with three separate oculoplastic surgeons and consequently have benefited greatly from a wide range of approaches. My fellowship in Dublin, under the tutelage of Paul Moriarty provided a comprehensive induction to the field and set the standard of service that I strive to achieve.
My surgical caseload is enjoyably varied, ranging from lids to orbital decompression for thyroid eye disease. I have attended and actively participated in the northern oculoplastics meetings on a very regular basis. I still manage to conduct a weekly high volume refractive cataract list. Teaching is an important part of my role and encompasses both undergraduate and postgraduate roles. In addition, I lecture to local GPs and optometrists. I am a senior clinical tutor for HYMS and conduct regular SSCs for me
