We're opening up this issue with an important, updated American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) Position Statement on Infectious Mononucleosis (IM). 

It's been 15 years since CJSM published the first AMSSM Position Statement on IM, and this comprehensive new Statement offers a welcome update on all aspects of IM including epidemiology, assessment and diagnosis, and management in athletes. I'm sure that practising clinicians everywhere will find this work to be of great use in their everyday clinical practice.
