CINCINNATI, OH – Let’s recap a very exciting first week of GL SC L action for the Cincinnati Steam.
Opening Day for the Steam featured an extra innings duel between the Steam and the Richmond Jazz. This one had a little bit of everything, ranging from home runs to stolen home plates, definitely living up to the hype of Opening Day in Cincinnati. Drew Fieger was the starting pitcher for the Steam and posted an impressive performance allowing 4 runs on 5 hits but securing a 1 run lead for the Steam through the first 3 innings. The Steam hit the road from Xavier University to Xenia, Ohio to face the Xenia Scouts in the second game of the season. William J au n made his first pitching appearance for the Steam in 2023 pitching a gem of a game throwing 5 full innings of scoreless, 3 hit baseball. However, the Steam bullpen was unable to capitalize on Juan’s quality start allowing the Scouts to put up 8 runs on 5 hits.
