Christy Peterson is a nonfiction writer, editor, and bookseller. She has written more than 40 books and articles for young readers, as well as “Nanoland,” a museum exhibit for Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, and resources for parents and teachers.
Her book, Into the Deep: Science, Technology, and the Quest to Protect the Ocean (TFCB 2020), was a 2021 Washington State Book Award finalist. Earth Day and the Environmental Movement (TFCB 2020) was long listed for the Green Earth Book Awards , was included in the 2021 Best Children’s Books of the Year from Bank Street College of Education, and was nominated for a Cybil award . Her most recent release is the Sesame Street Field Trips series from Lerner Publishing. (Winter 2021).
Christy works as a bookseller at Vintage Books in Vancouver, Washington and is Associate Editor at Yellow Bike Press . She also is a board member at Whale Times , an ocean education nonprofit, and helps coordinate the Words & Pictures Festival, and annual event presented by the Fort Vancouver Regional Library system.
