Dr. Christina Drexel is born originally in Augsburg, Germany, where she began her piano studies at the age of 4, followed by violin and flute.
Already during her studies she had operatic engagements as conductor. In 2008-2010 she had appearances as guest conductor at the Vienna State Opera. Her repertory comprises in addition to the usual opera and concert repertory many pieces from the 20. Century, among them Alban Berg’s Kammerkonzert for Violin, Piano and Wind-Soloists and Gottfried v. Einem’s opera Der Besuch der alten Dame . In 2016 she conducted the German première of Symphony Nr. 21 “Kaddisch” from Mieczyslaw Weinberg in der Synagoge Augsbu
In Bucharest, Romania, she performed at the International George-Enescu-Festival , leading the Moldova State Philharmonic Orchestra Iaşi at the Romanian Athenaeum. She also has a special relationship with China, where she was engaged very often. In 2010 she held a Master Class for “Chinese Art-songs” at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich.
