Every year, my friend Pat hosts a persimmon party at Pitcher Park in Orange to raise funds for this sweet little park. The Wimberly Bluegrass Group provides music, the park’s firehouse is opened, there is a honey sale from the park’s honey house, persimmon popsicles, persimmon meatballs, persimmon jams and jellies, and a wonderful persimmon bake sale…You can even buy a handmade persimmon hat, how cute is that!
