The question that needs to be asked is “Why consider the Cow as Holy Mother?” What religious significance it really has? Is it just because it gives us milk? Do we even know how the milk industry exploits (even sexually) Cows in order to have them produce milk every day throughout the year? Are we demanding a milk ban yet?

When we talk about the Cow belt of North India, majority of the milk that is consumed there is Buffalo milk. Biologically speaking, a Buffalo produces more milk and better milk (more fat and protein) than a Cow. In fact, India exports more Buffalo meat (carabeef or Buff) than Cow meat. But we don’t hear protests for saving the Buffalo like we do for the Cow.
