Friday, November sixth, we took the road from Te Anau to Milford Sound. There is only one road to Milford Sound, and it dead ends there. We drove almost two hours from Te Anau, passing the place where we had ended the Routeburn Track, before we got there. We saw a few birds, called kea, on the ground while taking photos at a scenic lookout.
At Milford Sound, we took a two hour cruise on the Lady Bowen. There were beautiful photo opportunities, we saw many seals, and we saw one Fiordland penguin. Milford Sound is usually a very rainy place, but we were fortunate to have sunny weather. The wind was chilly, but there were place to sit inside the boat. When the boat reached the place where the sound connected with the Tasman Sea, it turned around for the return voyage. As we made our way back, the boat stopped underneath a waterfall. The emp
