CARIM-South Project was the first observatory of migration focused on the Southern and South-Eastern Neighbourhoods of the European Union.

The project was part of the Migration Policy Centre (MPC) and has covered all South and East Mediterranean (SEM) countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, as well as Mauritania and Sudan.

All have been studied as origin, transit and destination countries. CARIM-South was originally set up in 2004 at the European University Institute (EUI, Florence) and co-financed by the European Commission.
