The Carferries of the Great Lakes
Description: Located in Manistee, the museum ships S.S. City of Milwaukee, and USCGC Acacia are open for tours, overnight stays, private events, and also feature a gift shop! The City of Milwaukee is a 360' long, 1931 railroad car ferry that serviced Lake Michigan for over 50 years. She is a National Historic Landmark, and the last of her kind! The Acacia is a 180' long buoy tender built in 1944 for service on the great lakes, and is also the last of her design! We are located on US 31 in Manistee, Michigan.
