Within the team are specialist oncologists , nuclear medicine physicians and radiologists with expertise in other modalities of treatment such as radiofrequency ablation, hepatic embolisation, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and radionuclide therapy .
The Endocrine Genetic Clinic has been set up at Hammersmith Hospital to run alongside the neuroendocrine clinic. We work with a clinical geneticist from the Kennedy Galton Centre, who attends the clinic and who, in many cases, is able to test directly for the change in DNA that is responsible for the condition. This allows a multidisciplinary approach to patients and their families with genetic diseases such as Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia and Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome.
