Cantio.cz is a database of Latin and vernacular songs in Central European sources focussed on the period c. 1350 – 1530 . It covers the fourteenth-century tradition of sequence-like monostanzaic songs as well as the tradition of strophic songs notated with black mensural notation, mostly preserved in manuscripts of Bohemian origin.
The development of the database is currently supported by the project “Old Myths, New Facts. Czech Lands in Center of 15th-Century Music Developments” of the Czech Science Foundation, 19-28306-X ( smnf.cz ).
