I’ve just been introduced to the concepts of “good money”—investment capital that is patient for growth but impatient for profit, which allows a company to explore and develop new growth opportunities without immediate pressure for returns—and “bad money”—investment capital that is impatient for growth but patient for profit, which generally leads to short-term thinking and potentially impedes long-term innovation and growth.
And now I know why VC-funded businesses have such a high failure rate.
