In 2021, Cailleah received the Lindalee Tracey Award for their Master’s thesis film BETWEEN US (2020), set in their former home of Yamagata, Japan. The film received a Best Director Jury Award at Image+Nation, the Best Short Film Jury Prize at Rozefilmdagen and was a finalist for the 2021 Iris Prize , the world’s largest award for LGBTQ+ short films.
Cailleah is currently developing their first feature, THE VOICE OF CALLING, through Stowe Story Labs and the Women in the Director’s Chair (WIDC) Career Advancement Module.
When not shooting, you can find Cailleah dead-lifting at the gym, jamming with their electro-acappella group, Beatsync , or curled up with their manga.
