I am a political theorist and historian of political thought with a focus on the work of Karl Marx, the republican political tradition and theories of popular democracy. I’m currently a Fellow at The New Institute in Hamburg and a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science .
I am currently writing a book, provisionally entitled Citizen Marx: Republicanism, Communism and Capitalism , which is under contract with Princeton University Press.
Before coming to the New Institute, I was an LSE Fellow in Political Theory at the London School of Economics and Political Scienc e, a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence and a Postdoctoral Fellow in Political Theory at the Justitia Amplificata Centre for Advanced Studies at the Goethe University Frankfurt and the Free University of Berlin. I completed my PhD at the University of Oxford (a copy of my PhD is available here ).
