Several people asked me after I finished the walk across California, “What’s next?” To which I answered, more or less, nothing in particular. But I do like to walk and I did take a walk, so maybe that was ‘next.’
In April of 2022 I did a 10-day walk in France, on the GR13. [GR is “Grand Randonnée” and France is wonderful that way – lots of walking routes. Good site here .] This is a different kind of walking than what I did before – I always stayed in legitimate lodgings, and did not have to carry a sleeping bag or food – just a change of clothes. My favorite places to stay are Chambres d’hôtes – essentially B&Bs ( not to be confused with Airbnbs).
I only did part of the GR13, from Auxerre to Autun. See the map… Paris is Northwest of Auxerre, Dijon a bit Northeast of Autun.
