The Brazos County Emergency Service District No. 3 was created in May 1999 as the Brazos County Rural Fire Prevention District No. 3 and was converted to an Emergency Service District by the passage of S.B. 1021 into law by the 78th Texas Legislature in 2003.
The Brazos County Emergency Service District No. 3 Board is made up of five commissioners appointed by the Brazos County Commissioners Court. These five commissioners each serve a two-year term with no term limits. To serve as a Emergeny Services District commissioner you must either live within, or own property within, the district's boundaries.
