Rahul is the Founder & Managing Partner of Baring India; Senior Partner and Global Board Member of Baring PE Partners (BPEP) International for over 20 years; Investment Committee member for Baring Vostok Capital Partners (BVCP); and has been an advisory board member of the ING Group in India (youngest ever so). He is an advisory board member of the ‘CEO Forum’ at Indian Management Association (IMA), and was a charter member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs).
Rahul has a combined investment experience of 30+ years. He has actively invested in and managed funds across various asset classes including equity, currency, and derivatives in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Russia, Asia and India. He has overseen and developed start-ups across multiple geographies. Prior to Baring, Rahul was a member of the Global and Emerging Market Asset Allocation Committees of Citibank in London overseeing US$ 84 billion of AUM. He served as the chairman of Mphasis Ltd. (now a Hewlett-Packard subsidiary) and oversaw its transformation from a 120-employee, US$ 6 million revenue, loss-making company into a 33,300-employee company with ~US$ 1 billion in revenues and high free cash flow generating enterprise. He has chaired as well as served on the board of several public & private companies, both in India & internationally.
