There are different types of treatment for patients with bowel cancer, depending on where the cancer is located in the body (i.e. the colon or rectum). While surgery is the most common treatment for removing the cancer from your bowel,  some people may also require chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy to reduce the size of the tumour and prevent progression of the disease.
