The Botswana-Sweden Friendship Association, commonly known as BOTSFA, was formed in 1984. The objective was and remains that of promoting an understanding and closer interaction between Swedes and Batswana, and enhance social and cultural exchanges. The Association was formed during a period when many Swedish experts worked in Botswana within the frame of Sweden´s development assistance to the country in the 70's and 80's. Today the assistance is chanelled through other organizations, e.g. the Swedish Trade
