Description: The B&O Trail, which is being developed along a former Baltimore and Ohio Railroad corridor in Indiana, is planned to one day stretch more than 60 miles from Indianapolis to Montezuma. The segment in Brownsburg, on the western outskirts of the capital, is comprised of two paved pathways totaling just over 3 miles, which offer tree-lined routes through residential communities and rural countryside.

The B&O Trail Association held a ceremonial groundbreaking on November 9, 2022 for its newest trail section, which runs from County Road 500 East to County Road 250 East in Hendricks County. “This is an exciting day for BOTA as construction is now beginning on the next phase of the B&O Trail,” said Jeff Smallwood, BOTA president. “We are one step closer to our long-term vision of a trail stretching from downtown Indianapolis to Montezuma, Indiana.”
