I and my father loved to show. I remember Ed Sullivan would say, "We're going to have a really big shoe tonight." The show's ratings had plummeted and CBS canceled the program in March 1971.
Jack Paar May 1, 1918 - January 27, 2004 Jack Paar became the second host of the Tonight Show in 1957 and quickly grew very popular. So popular, in fact, that the show was renamed " The Jack Paar Show " after only one year as host Johnny Carson took the reigns. The Jack Paar Show ran until 1965.
