The Bombay and Asian Cats Breed Club was started in August 1995 by a group of breeders and owners of Bombays and Asian Cats (including the Torties). On 27th October 1999 the club was granted affiliation to the GCCF and the Asian Self was awarded Championship Status from June 2000.
