The Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) is a group of 14 national organizations dedicated to ending the illegal Israeli blockade on Gaza. The Freedom Flotilla has historically sailed boats in attempts to break the blockade – We also highlight to the world the inhumanity of the blockade and let Palestinians know that we have not forgotten them and are working to change their situation.
Gaza has been called the largest open air prison in the world. Two million Palestinians, of which most are children under the age of 18, live under collective punishment, illegal under international law. The illegal and inhumane Israeli blockade limits electricity to just several hours each day, has made more than 90% of the water undrinkable for the people in Gaza, and denies the people access to basics including food and medical supplies.
Due to COVID, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition has decided to organize a Virtual Flotilla in 2022 rather than sail a physical boat. Freedom Flotilla Coalition members will have their own virtual boats and on each leg of the online virtual trip participants will learn about an aspect of the current situation and be guided to actions in support of Palestinian human rights.
