Blackford, is a small village with a growing population of around 900. It lies just off the A9, the main route through Scotland and is home to a number of businesses and a primary school. Perth is about 18 miles north of Blackford, while Stirling is around 18 miles south, both of which can be accessed by the local bus service along with other towns and villages in the area, please see the bus timetables for more information. The first Highland Games of the annual calendar is The Blackford Highland Games held in the village on the last Saturday in May. Another annual event is Blackford Gala Day , held in June this traditional event has been running since 1977.
