Black birthing people need doulas and wellness access as a fierce act of reclaiming their birthright of health and survival. Black birthing people are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white birthing people. Most pregnancy-related deaths are preventable and a direct reflection of racism in the health care system.
