The plastic pollution crisis affects every being on earth, from humans to animals to agriculture. Out of 400M tons of plastic products are produced annually, ONLY 9% is recycled, leaving the rest to degrade over hundreds of years. MicroPlastics are released from disposed plastics, and can be found everywhere from: oceans, rivers, landfill, rain water, marine life habitat, and most recently in mothers' breast milk. Studies show we consume approximately FIVE GRAMS (a spoonful) of plastics on a weekly basis.
