I am a musician and academic hailing from Bangalore, India. My domains of interest include ethnomusicology, music theory, Karnatik music and diaspora cultures.
I am currently a doctoral candidate under the mentorship of Dr. Svanibor Pettan at the University of Ljubljana, where I am researching the intersection of society, culture and music of Indian origins, in Slovenian society.
My academic work includes a chapter titled ‘Community Music with Unaccompanied Minor Asylum-seekers in Slovenia’ in the book ‘Music and Ethnic Minorities: (Trans)Cultural Dynamics in Slovenia after the Year 1991’ edited by Svanibor Pettan, a master's thesis analysing select compositions of Indian film-composer Ilayaraaja and a mobile application that converts Indian notation to Western staff notation as part of my fellowship project.
