Due to some recent feedback on our social media sites, Best Bargains feels it important that our consumers understand date codes on food items we sell in our store. We want to assure you that we would never put the health of our customers at risk. The USDA uses the following codes for industry standards. The codes are defined from the USDA site*.
Every Food item that we sell will have one of these dates listed on it, however, it is frozen prior to the date listed, causing it to not be “expired”. Think of it this way; you purchase brats in January and put them in your freezer until November and realize it says, “best by 4-30-22.” That doesn’t mean they are rotten, expired, or spoiled; it means that the best flavor would be had by the date listed and it has just been sitting in your freezer for months. This is the case with many things Best Bargain
In addition, we “Fresh Freeze” like any other major chain. We search for opportunities, both fresh and frozen, to offer our customers.
