The Bergmann confectionery was established by Imre Bergmann, confectioner and pastry cook in the spring of 1939, in Győr. The young man, coming from a family of craftsmen from Kapuvár learnt to be a confectioner and pastry cook in Budapest, then he extended his mastery in several reputed confectioneries, before opening his a confectionery in Győr in collaboration with the family.
