There is a great deal of misunderstanding about many of the most famous research studies in Psychology. We read summaries in textbooks, talk about lessons learned from the studies, but we are often decades disconnected from the research itself. We state things that never happened, so far removed from the original research that we don’t actually know what the researchers did.
