Pretty amusing to watch the establish press spin this, " mending ties " being the code word for a much bigger carrot .
Throwing around loaded phrases like "Security Guarantees" while quietly hoping for a grinding stalemate that eventually leaves Russia with regions in the East and JP Morgan et. al. with a rump state in the West. NATO's actions back this up, providing just enough assistance to keep the embers hot while not stoking it so heavily that things get out of control.
