Mason Zeigler Transfers into $100,000 Spring Thaw 100 (April 16, 2023) The XR Super Series presided over the most lucrative event so far in 2023 over the April 14-15 weekend at Volunteer Speedway. Following a rain-out of the preliminary action for the 'Spring Thaw 100' on Friday night, a total of 60 Super Late Model competitors converged at the Bulls Gap, Tennessee speedplant on Saturday to do battle for the whopping $100,000 first place prize.
Mason Zeigler, of Chalk Hill, Pennsylvania, laid down the fourth fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session prior to grabbing the third and final transfer spot through his heat race. After starting the 100-lap headliner from the inside of the seventh row, Mason was unfortunately an early retiree in the contest and was ultimately paid for a nineteenth place showing.
