William Ruto is a member of the Kalenjin community, which makes a majority of the former Rift Valley Province. President William Ruto was born on 21 December 1966 in Sambut village, Kamagut, Uasin Gishu County. His parents are Daniel Cheruiyot (father) and Sarah Cheruiyot (mother).
