I’ve noticed that there is sometimes a connection between minimalism and people who are trying to be frugal. I would consider myself to be a member of both camps. I have to be. To cut down on the amount of unnecessary crap in our home (and lives, and hearts, and brains) we have to try to be minimalists. And because we have four children, we have to be frugal. Somewhere those two ways of being have to meet in the middle. And I think there are some lessons to be learned.

In our journey into minimalism, we started to tackle all of the “stuff” in our house that we don’t need. It was making as miserable. MISERABLE. And through that process, we found some things that were pretty nice. Things that, although we don’t need them any longer, someone else might want. And, that we may be able to get a little money for. Because even if we sell something for cheap, maybe it would at least buy us a six-pack of craft beer, and that would make it totally worth the trouble to sell.
