The New York City-based Avian Orchestra was a contemporary music organization dedicated to promoting and presenting the music of living American composers. It was active from 2002 to 2014, but is currently on indefinite hiatus.
The mission was to perform the music of emerging American composers in an ongoing series of thematic concerts and recordings that engaged, built, and broadened the links between composers, audiences, performers.
