The Australasian Arachnological Society aims to promote interest in the ecology, behaviour and taxonomy of arachnids in the Austalasian region, loosely defined as Australia, New Zealand, South-east Asia, Oceania and the Pacific Islands.
Membership to the Australasian Arachnological Society is open to all amateur and professional individuals and scientific institutions.
Australasian Arachnological Society members pay $20 to receive the forthcoming four issues of the Society's newsletter Australasian Arachnology published after their joining date. Membership is newsletter-issue based, not time based. The Society aims to publish three issues per year but some years may pass with fewer issues.
