I created this movie poster for The Fox is Black ’s new re-covered film posters contest . If you’re not familiar, Battle Royale is a Japanese cult film about a class of school children forced to fight to the death on an island. (A precursor to The Hunger Games .) Hence the island and the literal ocean of blood. I was looking at a lot of Neil Kellerhouse work for this—you can see the influence in the gritty grayscale image, border, typography, and overall composition. Some of Mr. Kellerhouse’s work:
