Aroostook County is home to 15 EMS service agencies that field approximately 1,000 calls a month combined. With local agencies reporting 20-40% workforce vacancy rates and 50% of our County EMS workforce over the age of 40, a continued shortage of new EMS providers will contribute to significantly impacted coverage for our rural communities.
