Betwixt: musical experiments
Description: From Argentina to South Africa, with all the colours in between, this project was born in Johannesburg in debut 2016 is been growing nonstop ever since thanks to the support of Concerts SA, and the venues around Joburg, our families, and the guidance of fellow musicians such as Yonela Mnana, who's contributed immensely with the music.

Ariel Juana is a double bass and voice duo collaboration between Ariel Zamonsky and Juana Pires Rafael. Their music merges aspects of several styles, aiming to acknowledge these genres and their cultural background while providing an accessible and current approach through songs that address modern life issues.
Ariel Juana comes to life in Johannesburg, South Africa, at the beginning of 2016. Months later the project was granted Concerts SA Mobility fund, taking them on their first nationwide tour around South Africa. At the end of 2018 they obtained the funds again, touring regionally between Tanzania, Eswatini and South Africa.
In July 2020, their work "Certain songs for uncertain times", presented at the National Arts Festival was awarded the "Standard Bank Ovation Award".
