Anne and her husband Richard have their own studio and gallery at Buckland Abbey, the National Trust property in Devon. For over twenty years, their gallery has sold a beautiful range of art and craft items made solely by Anne and Richard.
Anne has always had a keen interest in sewing and embroidery and has developed her own style of freehand embroidery. Her embroidered pictures have always proved to be popular and can be found in private collections internationally; including the USA, Australia, New Zealand, France, The Netherlands, Germany and Japan, as well as the United Kingdom.
Her love of flowers and the countryside are ideal subjects for her pictures. Most pictures are a combination of Richard's painting and Anne's meticulous embroidery skills. Richard paints the image onto a piece of stretched, unbleached calico, using acrylic paints. Once the picture is dry, Anne can then begin her freestyle embroidery.
