We (Segun and Gaby) were both students when we met in Munich, Germany, in 1972. We got married in 1975 and had our first daughter, Funmi, in 1977. After we both completed our studies, we decided to leave Germany for Nigeria in 1978. Segun was posted to the North of Nigeria for his NYSC (the National Youth Service Corps, a compulsory service year for all Nigerian graduates) and so we spent a year in Kaduna state.
