Andy Connor is an Associate Professor in Colab at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand. His undergraduate training is in mechanical engineering and he holds a PhD in mechatronics. Following a number of years of commercial experience as a Software Engineer and a Systems Engineering Consultant, Andy emigrated from the UK to New Zealand and took up a number of roles in Software Engineering and Computer Science at Auckland University of Technology prior to joining Colab in 2012.
As well as my work experience in academia, I have worked as software engineer and a systems engineering consultant on a range of projects that have informed both my research and teaching agendas.
I was nominated for the Vice Chancellor's Teaching Excellence awards at AUT in 2010 after redesigning the delivery for a class on Data and Process Modelling, this is just one of many teaching innovations from my career.
