The mission of the Spatial Data on the Web Interest Group is to develop and maintain vocabularies and best practices that encourage better sharing of spatial data on the Web; and identify areas where standards should be developed jointly by both W3C and the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).

The Dataset Exchange Working Group aims to extend the existing DCAT standard in line with wider practice but also to recognise and support diverse approaches to data description and Dataset Exchange more generally.
