Description: The Amanda Lewis Lab at UCSD studies the human vaginal microbiota and its interactions with the vagina and nearby body sites with a focus on bacterial vaginosis and urinary tract infection. We use approaches in microbiology, biochemistry, glycobiology, and pathogenesis to understand interactions between microbes and their animal hosts.
