In the coming school year (2023-24), the African American Heritage Association will launch a Banned Books Club for children of all ages. In this club, we will read a selection of books that have been challenged or banned in the state of Florida.
This book club is meant to foster connection and community by reading about different life experiences, perspectives, and identities. Children will NOT have to buy the books. The AAHA and its partners will provide the books to each child free of charge. The intention is to remove all the barriers to access so that each child can start to build their own library.
