Dr. Sandford completed his Bachelors degree at the College of William and Mary and received his Masters Degree in Research Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University. He continued his educational training at NOVA Southeastern University, and received both a Master's degree and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. His American Psychological Association approved internship was at the McGuire VAMC. He completed his residency at the Behavioral Medicine Laboratory at the Medical College of Virginia.
